Banana-Strawberry Bread

Banana-Strawberry Bread

Our family has been really into watching the show, “Chopped” on The Food Network.

I don’t know if it’s the crazy ingredients the contestants are forced to cook with, if it’s watching them create these elaborate dishes in a short span of time, or if it’s hearing the judges reaction to the food, but I’m totally hooked!  So the other day, when my daughter wanted something sweet to eat, and I didn’t feel ike driving to the store, I gave her a “Chopped” type challenge.

I told my her to try to make a dessert, using the ingredients that she could find in the pantry.

She took on my challenge and came up with something incredible, Banana-Strawberry Bread!  She was able to find some very ripe bananas, some fresh strawberries, sugar, flour, baking soda, eggs, and the other ingredients she needed, in our kitchen.  She looked up recipes on Pinterest, that contained those ingredients and here is what she found:

We we made a few tweets to the recipe we found,

like we used fresh strawberries, instead of frozen, but it turned out so good!  It was especially tasty the next morning, for breakfast with a cup of coffee.  wpid-20150927_202741.jpg

It certainly satisfied her sweet tooth, that’s for sure!
