I’m thinking about joining Avon but I’m worried about the financial investment. How much is it to start my own business?

It costs just $15 to start your own Avon business and this includes 20 brochures (10 for each of your first two selling campaigns). This means you can offer Avon’s world famous products to 20 people right from the start. However, the more brochures and samples you buy, the more you’ll be able to develop your customer base quickly to help get your Avon business off to a great start! It’s simple, the more brochures you purchase, the more opportunities you have to make a sale.

What else does my $15 starting fee include for starting my business?

It gives you everything you need to get started in your Avon business, including 20 brochures, product samples, sales training and useful reference materials. As a new Representative, you will receive an exclusive offer on selected products and samples at great promotional prices.

How much can I make selling Avon?
The more time and effort you put into training and building your business, the more potential you have to make money. Throughout your Avon career, you can continue to earn as much as 50% on beauty products, depending on your order size. You can increase your earnings potential by recruiting, training, and mentoring new Representatives.

Do I have to keep products on hand?

You do not need to keep a stock of products on hand. You may find, however, that your customers have personal favorites that are helpful for you to have available for last-minute needs. For example, one Representative says she keeps Bug Guard insect repellants or products stocked during the summer for a quick sale! Another keeps an assortment of lip balms in her handbag for easy sales. There are lots of ways to be creative. In addition, Representatives are offered exclusive product promotions and opportunities to purchase products in advance…so look out for more details in the future.

Avon uses the term “selling campaigns”, but what does that mean?
 Avon publishes a new brochure every two weeks throughout the year, with a total of 26 brochures. Each brochure – or 2 week selling period – is called a “campaign”. There are 26 campaigns each year. During each 2 week campaign, Representatives sell items from the newest Avon brochure. Each brochure features new products and a variety of promotional offers.

How often do I have to place an order?

Representatives generally place an order in each selling campaign (every 2 weeks). To build your business and service your customers, it is recommended that you place an order every two weeks. Contacting your Customers every campaign gives them the opportunity to purchase their Avon favorites, see new products, and take advantage of special offers. You’ll find that contacting new and potential Customers on a consistent basis will result in your placing an order each campaign.

How long does it take to receive my order once it is submitted?
You will receive your order within 2-3 business days after it is submitted.

How do I receive future brochures?
Every two weeks, when you place a product order, you can purchase brochures for the upcoming campaigns. Brochures are always ordered four weeks ahead to give you plenty of time to include them in your Customers’ orders, and to share them with new potential Customers.
Do I have to pay for shipping, or do my customers pay a shipping fee?
You will be charged a shipping and handling fee based on the size of your order. Surcharges may apply for Alaska, Guam, and Hawaii.You can also sell through a personal website. Your customers can either order products that will be shipped to them directly from Avon or that will be included in your order for you to deliver to customers.
How do I pay for my order?
You can pay by check, money order, credit card or online directly from your checking account using Avon QuikPAY.

My life can be very busy. Am I required to attend meetings?
As an Independent Sales Representative, you are not required to attend any meetings; however, they are designed to help you grow your business. As we know our Representatives have busy lives, Avon offers extensive on-line training that you can access 24 hours a day, seven days a week to enhance your business. Your District Sales Manager, or the Avon Representative who referred you, may hold group meetings in your area to share product training or program incentives. If so, you will be contacted in advance so you can add the event to your calendar. Meetings are a great way to learn from and share with other Representatives, hear about what’s coming up and get support from your District Sales Manager.
I’ve heard that at other direct selling companies, you are required to host parties.
Does Avon require Representatives to host parties?
You are not required to have any parties, but they can be fun, and help your business! Many Representatives find group selling to be a very lucrative way to sell more products, broaden their customer base, and build their network…and have fun. If you do choose to participate in group selling, Avon offers various training and support materials to assist you.
Is it hard to sell Avon?
Avon is one of the best-known brands in the world, which makes it easy to sell. We know many of our Representatives join Avon to have fun, and selling Avon can be great fun!

What information will you need from me to set up my account?

We will need standard personal information, including your social security number. Because we offer an automatic line of credit for our Avon Representatives, this information is necessary to determine how much credit you will be eligible for.
What happens after I sign up?
In a few easy steps, you can become an Avon Representative and start your own business! Right after you sign up, you will receive a welcome e-mail. Then you can go online, explore the product line, and start your training. We’ve got webinars, skin care selling tips, product videos, and much, much more! You may also create your own personal website to help you to sell products to customers and manage your business.
